Venue
Florence, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science. In fact, it has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages. In the 15th century, it came under the rule of the Medici family, who later became the Grand Dukes of Tuscany.
Florence remains one of the world's most beautiful cities which is why it is known as an artistic, architectural and cultural gem. In a relatively small area Florence contains a wealth of Rennaissance art treasures among streets that were once walked by their great creators like Michelangelo, Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci.

The Palazzo dei Congressi is located inside the 18th century Villa Vittoria, and boasts a prestigious auditorium which can host up to 1,000 people.
The charming interiors of the venue are characterised by a combination of Florentine antique furniture with modern and functionally designed halls.
Surrounded by a centuries-old garden, Palazzo dei Congressi and its adjacent Lemon House are located in front of Palazzo degli Affari and are connected to the Fortezza da Basso through a pedestrian square, thus forming a congress & exhibition area which is completely accessible on foot, in the heart of the city. |
The heart of the city is the Piazza del Duomo and the Piazza della Signoria. The statues dominating the Piazza della Signoria remind of the major historical events of the city's past, moreover the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio still performs its original role as Florence's town hall.
The close-by Uffizi is the oldest gallery in the world with a collection of the greatest works of the Renaissance commissioned largely by the Medici family.
Home to the likes of Gucci and Ferragamo, Florence today also is known for style, both in past and present. Phalanxes of stylish boutiques line up alongside the galleries and palazzi. |
